Placing Your Order
What formats do you convert?
We offer conversion services for the following:
- VHS
- Video Cassettes: Video 8 / Hi8 / 8mm
- MiniDV
- VHS-C
- DVD
- Audio Cassettes
If you're unsure of what format your media is in, send us a photo and we'll help you identify it!
How long will my order take?
After submitting the number of tapes in your order, an estimated completion time will be provided to you.
If you need your tapes converted quicker, please let us know, and we'll do our best to prioritse your order.
I don't have an email...
No problem! We’ll create a Google Drive account for you so you can access your files. Once you've downloaded everything to your device, you won’t need to worry about the account anymore!
I don't know if my tapes still work!
No worries! We'll check your tapes during the conversion process. If any tapes are blank or don't work, we'll inform you, and you won’t be charged for those.
If there is a physical issue with a tape that we can fix, we’ll do our best to repair it as part of our service.
Do I need to have a USB or Hard Drive?
If you already have a USB or Hard Drive, feel free to include it with your tapes, ready for collection.
If you need one, we can provide a 32GB USB for $25 or a 1TB hard drive for $99 (ideal for larger orders). We also offer the option to upload your files to Google Drive, making them easily accessible from any computer or mobile device—no USB required.
Are there discounts for larger orders?
Yes! We offer tiered pricing based on the number of tapes you have to convert:
- 1-9 tapes: $30 per tape
- 10+ tapes: $20 per tape
USBs are optional at $25 each, and large Hard Drives are available for $99 each. Plus, you'll receive a free video editing program with your order!
Getting Your Order To Us
How can I arrange collection?
After placing your order online, via email or over the phone, select the ‘collection’ option. You will receive an email with instructions on how to prepare your tapes for collection and available pick-up times.
We offer a Flat Rate Pick-up + Drop-off service for only $20 within Melbourne Metropolitan areas.
Alternatively, if you prefer, you can send your tapes to us at your own expense. Be sure to package them securely in a cardboard box to prevent damage.
Can I drop my tapes off to you? Where are you located?
Absolutely!
We have 2 locations: Lalor and Greenvale.
Once you place your order, we'll get in touch with you to organise pick-up.
We will organise the exact address from there.
Is it safe to convert my tapes? Will there be any damage to them?
Your tapes are completely safe during the conversion process. We handle them with the utmost care to ensure they remain intact.
You'll receive both your original tapes and high-quality digital copies once your order is complete.
The conversion process is very gentle, involving minimal physical handling, aside from playing the tapes. Rest assured, your media is in good hands!
Do you recquire payment upfront?
No, upfront payment is not required. At checkout, you can choose the ‘payment on delivery’ option, allowing you to pay once you’ve received your order. Alternatively, you can pay in full at the checkout on our website if you prefer.
If any tapes are blank, not working, or irreparable, you won’t be charged for them. After placing your order, you’ll receive an email with your invoice, order summary, and estimated delivery time.
Can I pay in cash?
Yes! Simply select the ‘cash’ option at the checkout. You will still receive an invoice after placing your order.
Anything Else?
Is the content on my tapes private? Are they viewed during the process?
Your privacy is a top priority. While we briefly check the video and audio quality to ensure everything meets our standards, we do not focus on or watch the content itself. Your memories remain completely private throughout the process.
Do I need a computer to watch the files?
No, you don’t! Your files can be enjoyed on any smart TV, a standard TV with a USB port, or even your iPad. Once you receive your files—whether via Google Drive, USB, or hard drive—you can easily transfer them to any compatible device, including your mobile device.
Do you clip or edit videos?
Unfortunately not.
But we do send you a FREE video editing program called "HandBrake" that will allow you to trim, edit and section your videos into bite-sized pieces!
Do you take orders from outside Victoria?
Yes we do!
We will, however, need to arrange a courier service to get your tapes safely to us.
In this case, send us an email to organise the order, delivery and estimated pick-up, as the total fee will depend on the courier service.
My tape won't play or is damaged...
We can fix most minor issues on the tapes themselves, but if it still doesn't play, we wont charge you for it.
If the tape is beyond our capabilities, we'll let you know and return it to you with your order.
